On Friday, Sony India has revealed a new model in its Cyber-shot series as the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX800. The new camera in the series is a portable high-zoom camera that has a range from 24mm at the wide end up to 720mm super-telephoto. The camera which is capable of recording 4K videos is said to have a Bionz X image processing engine.
Sony India, at the launch event of the camera, has revealed that the camera will have a back-illuminated Exmor RTM CMOS sensor, with 18.2-megapixel effective resolution. With the optical SteadyShot feature, it will not only provide image stabilization, but it is also equipped with a Zoom Assist function. The Zoom Assist function is meant to allow users to zoom out temporarily and to display a wider area while shooting a subject at the telephoto end.
The two cameras of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX800 provides features like Eye autofocus, RAW format image recording, autofocus with speed of only 0.09 seconds, touch focus/touch shutter function, and they have a sensitivity of up to ISO 6400 for low-light photography. Besides this, the camera also comes with a 180-degree tiltable LCD touchscreen for easy framing of selfie shots.
Adding more to the features, the camera is capable of collecting and recording location data from a mobile device with the help of location data acquisition. And the Bluetooth support in the camera makes transfers to smartphones or uploading to websites easily. The Bluetooth in the camera is compatible with all Android devices that will have Android 5.0 or later installed in them and will support Bluetooth v4.0 or later. Users can even connect the camera with iPhone 4S or later, and the iPad 3rd generation or later.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX800 has been revealed in India at an attractive price of Rs. 34,990 and users can purchase this latest device from any of the available Sony Center stores or other electronic stores across India starting from October 29.
